Please note: In line with TGA regulations, we cannot provide detailed treatment information online; a consultation with a practitioner is required to assess your skin, discuss options and pricing, and create a personalised treatment plan specifically for you.

In accordance with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations, we are unable to provide detailed information about specific treatments online. Such information may be misinterpreted as the promotion of prescription-only (Schedule 4) medications – this is not permitted under TGA guidelines.

For this reason, a consultation with one of our practitioners is required. During your comprehensive consultation, your practitioner will carefully assess your skin, discuss your concerns, and provide education around suitable treatment options. A personalised treatment plan will then be created to address your individual needs.

Treatment costs will vary depending on your tailored plan and will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation.

Understanding Fine Lines and Wrinkles

As we age, we begin to notice the formation of lines and wrinkles that occur with facial expression and movement. These are called dynamic lines.

Continued and repeated use of facial muscles combined with ageing factors such as volume loss, loss of subcutaneous fat, changes to facial bones, and loss and damage to collagen and elastin within the skin, these dynamic lines eventually form static lines, which become present at rest.

There are a range of non-surgical approaches that may be discussed during consultation to support the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The suitability of any option depends on individual anatomy, goals, and clinical assessment. Suitability and outcomes vary between individuals.

What are some treatment options for fine lines and wrinkles?

There are multiple treatment options for fine lines and wrinkles.

Some procedures work by reducing activity in overactive facial muscles, which can soften the appearance of lines in these areas. Suitability and expected outcomes vary, and will be discussed during consultation.

At Youth Lab, our approach is conservative and individualised, with treatments tailored to your unique facial anatomy and goals.

Areas that may be considered for treatment:
  • Wherever there are dynamic lines or areas of overactive muscles
  • Forehead lines
  • Periorbital lines
  • Lines on the nose
  • Dimpling of the chin
  • Upper lip lines
  • Corners of the mouth
  • Widened jaw
  • Platysmal bands

FAQs

What does the treatment involve?

At Youth Lab, a full consultation is required for every new client. Your consultation will include clinical photography to ensure your progress is monitored, a skin assessment and a full facial assessment where your area of concerns and expectations will be discussed. Your doctor or nurse will then tailor a treatment plan specifically for you.

If treatment proceeds, it is performed by a qualified medical professional in a clinical setting using sterile, single-use equipment. The approach is individualised and explained in detail during consultation

Some discomfort may be involved. Some clients report a stinging sensation and discomfort which is easily reduced by applying an ice pack or numbing cream to the area.

A follow-up appointment may be arranged to review outcomes and address any questions.

Further treatment decisions, if appropriate, will be discussed during consultation and guided by individual assessment and clinical judgement.

Complete aftercare instructions are provided following each appointment.

How long do results last?

The longevity of outcomes varies between individuals and is influenced by a range of personal and clinical factors. This will be discussed during your consultation.

Overtime, the muscles gradually return to their pre-treatment state. A follow-up appointment may be recommended to review outcomes and discuss next steps as part of an individualised care plan.

What happens after treatment?

Aftercare requirements vary depending on the treatment plan and individual factors. Personalised post-treatment guidance will be provided by your practitioner following consultation or treatment.

What are the risks of fine line and wrinkle treatment?

As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects. These range from common, temporary effects to rarer complications. All risks will be discussed in detail during your consultation, and informed consent obtained prior to any treatment.

These treatments cannot be given in people with underlying neurological conditions such as Myasthena Gravis and in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

What are the costs?

In line with TGA guidelines, we are not able to advertise the price of our fine line and wrinkle treatments. Upon consultation, our practitioners will be able to discuss pricing based on your individualised treatment plan.
