Halo Recovery Timeline

Written by Dr Kate Jameson

I have recently had my second Halo treatment (lucky me) and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share with you what the recovery process was like. The below photographs have been taken with our Clinical Imaging System each day of the recovery with zero makeup, zero filters and in the same positioning and lighting.

I had no particular concerns to target with my second Halo given my skin was already in excellent condition following my first treatment. The goals were to show the down time based on standard Halo settings (not too intense, but not too mild either). I was pleasantly surprised with my results, especially in terms of the refinement of my pores and overall skin luminosity, and I continue to get compliments on my skin today.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions on my recovery or on the Halo laser treatment in general. We are seeing phenomenal results with the laser and the down time does appear to be similar regardless of how intense we make the treatment.

Happy reading.

BEFORE TREATMENT

BEFORE TREATMENT
  • Skin in good condition
  • Slightly enlarged pores
  • Deep dermal pigment
  • Irregular skin tone
  • Loss of skin “glow”

Immediately post treatment – day ZERO

Immediately post treatment
  • Skin extremely hot
  • Heat lasted 2-3 hours
  • Stinging with moisturiser application
  • Moderate discomfort
  • Sensitive and very red

POST TREATMENT – DAY ONE

DAY ONE
  • Skin very dry and tight
  • Dark MENDZ starting to become apparent
  • Redness still present, less than day before

  • No pain
  • Went to work as normal

POST TREATMENT – DAY TWO

DAY TWO
  • Skin extremely dry and tight, feeling like thick sandpaper

  • Flaking and dryness to areas eg hairline and periphery of face
  • Makeup worn and easily hiding redness

POST TREATMENT – DAY FIVE

DAY FIVE
  • Recovery hindered by break out, hormonal also
  • Painful and tender to breakout area
  • Remainder of face smooth with no further flaking
  • Makeup worn
  • Texture already feeling improved
  • Pores visibly reduced
  • Brighter skin tone
  • Breakout completely healed (accelerated recovery, normally takes a week for my hormonal acne to heal)
  • Pores visibly reduces

  • People commenting on my skin
  • No makeup worn as I feel I have nothing to cover
