Please note: In line with TGA regulations, we cannot provide detailed treatment information online; a consultation with a practitioner is required to assess your skin, discuss options and pricing, and create a personalised treatment plan specifically for you.

In accordance with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations, we are unable to provide detailed information about specific treatments online. Such information may be misinterpreted as the promotion of prescription-only (Schedule 4) medications – this is not permitted under TGA guidelines.

For this reason, a consultation with one of our practitioners is required. During your comprehensive consultation, your practitioner will carefully assess your skin, discuss your concerns, and provide education around suitable treatment options. A personalised treatment plan will then be created to address your individual needs.

Treatment costs will vary depending on your tailored plan and will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation.

At Youth Lab, we provide consultations for a hayfever treatment that may be considered for individuals whose symptoms are not well-managed with standard therapies.

This consultation relates to medical options that may be discussed for individuals experiencing hayfever or allergic rhinitis symptoms.

Every treatment begins with a consultation with one of our qualified practitioners, who will review your symptoms, medical history, and current management to determine suitability.

Understanding Hayfever

Hayfever, also known as allergic rhinitis, is an inflammatory condition affecting the nasal passages.

It is triggered by allergens such as grass pollen, dust mites, animal dander, and mould spores, which stimulate an immune response and cause inflammation of the nasal mucosa.

Common symptoms include:

  • Sneezing and runny nose
  • Itchy or watery eyes
  • Nasal congestion or sinus pressure
  • Fatigue and poor sleep due to congestion

While antihistamines, corticosteroid sprays, and saline washes are common first-line treatments, some people continue to experience persistent or seasonal symptoms.

In these cases, other medical options may be considered following consultation.

FAQs

How do I prepare for the Hayfever Consultation/Treatment?

We recommend performing a gentle saline nasal rinse (e.g. FESS®) approximately one hour before your treatment.

This helps clear the nasal passages, allowing better access and adherence of the treatment within the nasal lining.

What does the treatment involve?

Following a consultation, your practitioner will assess your medical history, current management of hayfever, and whether this treatment option is appropriate.

If treatment proceeds, it is performed in a clinical setting using sterile, single-use equipment. Only medical professionals can perform this procedure.

The procedure generally takes 15 minutes. No needles are required. The specific method will be discussed during consultation.

How long do results last?

Outcomes and duration vary between individuals and will be discussed during consultation.

Some individuals require repeat sessions to maintain symptom relief.

Ongoing management with standard therapies may still be recommended as part of a comprehensive allergy plan.

What happens after my treatment?

You may experience mild nasal congestion or irritation for a short time after treatment.

Full aftercare information will be provided upon consultation.

What are the risks of treatment?

All medical procedures carry some degree of risk.

Possible short-term effects include temporary nasal irritation, congestion, or mild discomfort.

Serious side effects are rare; your practitioner will explain all potential risks, contraindications, and alternative options before proceeding.

This treatment is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What are the costs?

In line with TGA guidelines, we are not able to advertise the price of this treatment. Upon consultation, our practitioners will be able to discuss pricing based on your individualised treatment plan.
