dermapen4 Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy has a long history that can be dated back to the very roots of medicine. It is an ancient technique where doctors would puncture or inject substances primarily to treat pain.

In the last century mesotherapy has been used for aesthetic purposes. Subsequent techniques have developed making it one of the most popular aesthetic medical treatments in the world.

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive treatment, which uses multiple means to infuse or inject active solutions into the skin. The solutions are high in concentration and quality active substances, resulting in high levels of therapeutic response within the skin.

Furthermore, these substances help further penetration of the actives used, targeting particular skin concerns as well as all round skin rejuvenation and repair.

At Youth Lab, our mesotherapy cocktails contain evidence based solutions to target multiple skin concerns such as:

We utilise low down time techniques to infuse the solutions into the skin with an immediate result.

Our range mesotherapy solutions are an exclusive line of cocktails containing active substances, that provide efficient solutions targeted to treat specific skin concerns.

The variety of active solutions included in each individualised formula encourages natural cellular repair and an optimal response in the skin. The pH falls within the physiological pH range between 6.5 and 7.5 – having an optimal level of skin tolerance with no irritability.

What is exciting about the mesotherapy offered at Youth Lab is that we can combine our active solutions with medical grade products such as neuromodulators (the same product in anti-wrinkle injections) and dermal fillers to enhance results. We utilise the following ingredients and solutions as part of our treatment plan.

What are the Mesotherapy Cocktails Options?

  • Neuromodulators – microdoses of these (wrinkle relaxers) injected into the skin rather than the muscle has the effect of tightening the skin, reducing pore size and smoothing texture irregularities. The end result is smoother, photo-finish skin.
  • Dermal fillers soft dermal fillers combined with mesotherapy work to intensely hydrate the skin, improve elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines without adding volume.
  • Mesotox – This exciting new solution reduces and prevents the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It has been shown to prolong the results of anti wrinkle injections (used to treat wrinkles) and can actually prolong the effects of anti wrinkle injections over time. This is the perfect addition to any treatment regime.
  • Mesopeptide – This solution contains potent peptides and can be used to promote thickening of the dermis and results in firmer, tighter skin.
  • Facial tightening solution – Intense tightening effects to restore firmness and minimise the signs of ageing. Stimulating collagen and elastin production and protection from free radical damage with antioxidant properties. Active substances: DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol), Organic silicon, Lipoic acid, Zinc.
  • Depigmentation solution – A strong combination of active substances that whitens and corrects pigment and antioxidant changes. This formula inhibits tyrosinase and slows down melanin production, helping to brighten and even out skin tone. Active substances: Tranexamic acid, Nicotinamide, N-acetyl glucosamine, Vitamin C.
  • Photoageing solution – Minimises the signs of ageing as these active substances help fight against photodamage, add additional antioxidants, and help repair moisture and firmness to the skin. Corrects the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promoting new collagen production. Active substances; Hyaluronic acid, Idebenon, Taurine, Vitamin C.
  • Skinmark solution – Targets stretch marks and scars and helps to improve their appearance. This solution stimulates cell repair and boosts healthy collagen synthesis to restore elasticity and firmness to the skin.
  • Cellullishock solution – this solution helps to break down fat and improves microcirculation to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
  • Retinol – stimulates fibroblasts and inhibits collagen breakdown, strong anti-ageing effects and maintains the strength and integrity of skin cells.
  • Vitamin C – a powerful antioxidant to protect against the oxidative damage from UV exposure, brighten the skin and stimulate collagen production.
  • Centella – stimulates collagen synthesis and improves cell turnover which repairs damaged cells and reduces the appearance of scars and cellulite.
  • Glycolic acid – Glycolic acid promotes skin cell turnover, reduces congestion and actinic keratosis, and the appearance of fine lines.

Mesotherapy generally produces quick results with minimal side effects and is a progressive technique with best results obtained after multiple treatments.

It is a great option for people looking to improve the texture and tone of their skin, helping hydrate and stimulate collagen production, without the downtime.

What does the treatment involve?

Following a full consultation with our Dermal Therapists and once your treatment regime and concerns have been established the treatment takes only 30 minutes. You will have your face cleaned and relax while your therapist performs your Mesotherapy.

In medicine, Mesotherapy is generally performed using injections directly into the dermis of the skin. Other Mesotherapy treatments use Micro Needling, Injection gun devices (with multiple needles) Sonophoresis and Ultrasound to penetrate the active ingredients into the skin.

At Youth Lab we use our specialised AquaGold Fine Touch mesotherapy device as well as microneedling (Using the MPen by Mesoesthetic and Dermapen4) as our preferred Mesotherapy tools and delivery systems.

Our specialised devices result in creating tiny channels into the skin which allows the active Mesotherapy ingredients to penetrate the skin directly through those channels. We can tailor the solution according to individual concerns and each cocktail is made up for each individual per treatment.

Our mesotherapy devices deliver the solutions to the dermal/epidermal junction at a depth of 0.6mm. Unlike traditional needling devices, the end goal here is not to stimulate the skin but to infuse the Mesotherapy cocktails safely and without pain. There is no pain with the treatment and no down time.

How long do results last?

Mesotherapy is a great way to boost and rejuvenate your skin back to life. Your treatment can be tailored to your individual needs and specific skin concerns, and the great thing about mesotherapy is that there is no downtime. It is a wonderful treatment to have done before a special event.

As with any treatment, a course of treatments is always recommended for the best results. The best results are achieved in 5 sessions, spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart. Frequency depends on the condition of the skin and the rate at which the skin works to repair itself.

It is possible to combine mesotherapy with other treatments such as chemical peels, anti-wrinkles injections, dermal fillers and radio frequency to maximise the results.

What happens after my treatment?

There is no down time after mesotherapy and clients can go back to work and go about their normal day following the treatment. There may be some very mild redness that generally settles down very quickly. We advise against wearing makeup immediately post treatment.

Full aftercare instructions will be provided following the treatment.

Following the treatment (after resting the skin for 5 days) we recommend continuing with a home care regime of active cosmeceutical ingredients to ensure the longevity of the results and to continue to improve your skin health between treatments.

What are the risks of treatment?

Risks are similar to those of skin needling. The most common side effects are increased skin sensitivity and erythema (like sunburn), dryness and light flaking in the days following. In rare cases grazing, pustules and infection may occur.

A rare but possible complication if hyper or hypopigmentation, however our dermal therapist will discuss this with each patient and offer appropriate and effective treatment if this were to occur including review by our doctors.

Mesotherapy is not suitable for those who have been on a course of roaccutane in the past 3 months, active acne or inflammatory acne lesions, active infection or wounds. Precautions must be taken In those taking blood thinning medications (including aspirin and ibuprofen) and in smokers.

Further contraindications will be discussed during the consultation process.
