The Youth Lab 3D Skin Remodelling System is a multi-modality skin treatment protocol developed by Dr Kate Jameson and the Youth Lab clinical team.

It is designed for clients seeking a comprehensive, non-invasive approach to improving overall skin tone, texture, and luminosity in a single session.

This signature system integrates three advanced light and laser-based technologies, in the forms of, BBL Light Therapy, ClearSilk Laser, and Hybrid Fractionated Laser Resurfacing, which are performed sequentially to support a smoother, clearer and more refined appearance.

Each component of the treatment is selected to address the skin at different depths, providing a multi-layered approach to visible skin improvement. The 3D Skin Remodelling System is suitable for those concerned with overall skin quality, uneven texture, and general signs of photo-ageing.

What is 3D Skin Remodelling

The treatment combines three distinct technologies in one session:

BBL Photo-Rejuvenation:

Uses specific wavelengths of light energy to gently warm the skin, supporting a clearer and more even-looking complexion.

ClearSilk Laser:

A non-invasive 1064 nm laser designed to refine the skin’s appearance and enhance overall radiance.

Hybrid Laser Resurfacing (Aura):

Combines two wavelengths at controlled settings to polish and refresh the skin surface with minimal downtime.

When performed together, these modalities provide a comprehensive cosmetic approach that supports natural skin renewal and visible enhancement of tone and texture.

FAQs

What does the treatment involve?

Prior to the treatment being performed, a consultation with your practitioner will be required to determine your suitability for this treatment. Following the consent process, clinical imaging will take place and you will be prepared for treatment.

The total treatment time takes 90 minutes.

To begin the treatment, your eyes will be protected with safety goggles whereby the energy device is passed over the skin. This will feel like a warm snap of an elastic band on the skin as the light is absorbed by certain areas. This component is relatively gentle and low risk when performed by our highly trained practitioners. Here, your pigmentation, sun spots, freckles and redness will be targeted, leaving you with a bright, even complexion.

From here, a warm heated device is passed over the skin where no discomfort should be felt. As the heat is delivered to the skin, it begins to safely heat the deep tissues to begin collagen stimulation, further treating signs of aging, redness, sun damage and uneven skin tone.

With the heat beginning to build in the skin, your practitioner is then guided by advanced technology using an ablative laser to further target pigmentation, fine lines, redness, textural irregularities and pores through resurfacing. It will feel like a warm, prickling sensation whereby discomfort level may vary from person to person, however a cooling device provided by your practitioner will assist with comfort.

Occasionally you will be prescribed skin preparation products or a lightening cream for 2-4 weeks prior to the treatment to ensure your skin is in optimal condition. This is going to reduce the risk of adverse effects and ensure the best long term results. Fake tan, tanning and sun exposure is to also be avoided for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

How long do results last?

The duration and visibility of results can vary between individuals and depend on factors such as skin condition, age, and adherence to aftercare.

Some clients notice gradual improvement in skin tone and texture within weeks of treatment, with ongoing enhancement observed over time.

Your practitioner will recommend an individualised plan (often a course of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart) to help achieve and maintain your desired results.

Following your treatment, maintaining consistent home care, daily SPF protection, and regular maintenance treatments with modalities such as BBL or ClearSilk may help support longer-lasting outcomes.

What happens after my treatment?

Immediately following your session, a calming balm and protective skincare products will be applied.

It’s normal for the skin to feel warm or tight and to appear flushed for a short period. Mild swelling may occur in the first 24 to 48 hours. Your practitioner will provide you with tailored aftercare instructions and recommend suitable products to support hydration and comfort.

In the days following treatment, the skin may feel dry or rough to the touch, with some mild flaking or temporary darkening of certain areas. This is part of the normal renewal process and typically resolves within one to two weeks.

Avoid picking or exfoliating the skin during this time, and protect the area with gentle skincare and daily broad-spectrum SPF.

Makeup should be avoided for the first 24 hours, and active ingredients (such as Vitamin A or strong exfoliants) should be paused until your practitioner advises it is safe to resume.

What are the risks of treatment?

When performed by qualified and experienced clinicians, the Youth Lab 3D Skin Remodelling System is considered a low-risk procedure. However, as with all energy-based skin treatments, mild and temporary side effects may occur.

These can include:

  • Redness or sensitivity for several days after treatment

  • Dryness or mild flaking
  • Less common effects may include:

  • Breakouts or mild congestion during recovery
