The Youth Lab 3D Skin Remodelling System is a one of its kind treatment, designed by Dr Kate and Youth Lab’s team of dermal clinicians. Nowhere else will you receive a treatment specifically designed to treat the skin at multiple levels in a single session, using the most advanced technology.

Combining multiple treatment modalities; BBL photo-rejuvenation, Clearsilk laser and ablative and non-ablative hybrid laser resurfacing wavelengths, you will be left with phenomenal results seeing improvements in pigmentation, tone, texture, fine lines, pore size, and left with clear, refined and rejuvenated youthful skin.

What is the treatment?

The Youth Lab 3D Skin Remodelling System is the synergistic fusion of three unique technologies for unparalleled outcomes. The tri-modality facial rejuvenation treatment that simultaneously enhances tone, tightness, and texture.

Combining the power of three unique non-surgical procedures into one complete skin renewal treatment results in incredibly smoother, younger, healthier looking skin, the high intensity, minimally invasive solution gives highly visible results in fewer treatments.

The synergistic effect of Superficial and Deep resurfacing wavelengths, combined with BBL Photo-rejuvenation and ClearSilk targets all the visible signs of aging, sun damage, collagen and elastin loss, delivers greater visible results in fewer treatments, all while offering a more tolerable recovery with  less risks associated with more intensive laser resurfacing procedures.

The result is brighter, smoother, youthful glowing skin that is unsurpassed when compared to other stand-alone laser treatments.

Halo / Aura

The Youth Lab Aura Laser, exclusive to YL combines the rejuvenating effects of the Halo Diode 1470 nm non-ablative wavelength and Erbium 2940 nm Ablative wavelengths at milder settings to deliver a gentler skin resurfacing procedure, much like a medical peel. It can be compared with the Fraxel Clear and Brilliant but has less down time and delivers far greater results.

Aura laser works to reverse the signs of aging by creating controlled damage, vaporising and removing the old, damaged superficial epidermal cells of the skin and can target superficial pigment, lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores and textural irregularities. The deeper 2940 nm Erbium laser has the ability to penetrate more deeply into the skin, targeting water within the skin to further stimulate deeper renewal and optimise collagen production

BBL machine

BBL Corrective

BBL (Broad Band Light) directs pulsed light energy into the skin which is converted to heat energy. Using specific wavelengths of light energy, the tissue is gently heated and heat energy is absorbed by certain targets eg. broken blood vessels, capillaries, visible redness or melanin, pigmented spots such as freckles, sun spots and age spots. The light then damages these targets, eliminating them from the skin, removing visible signs of sun damage, uneven pigmentation, and redness to achieve an even, bright and glowing complexion.

ClearSilk machine

ClearSilk

A noninvasive 1064nm laser which is used to increase the quality of collagen and elastin within the skin and improve the effect of the BBL and Aura Laser to achieve optimum results. The 1064nm ClearSilk laser specifically deposits micro pulses of light energy into the skin and micro-vessels to increase the temperature of the tissue to a range specific to inducing a mild inflammatory response. This response triggers the release of mediators that stimulate fibroblast activity and the body’s natural repair process resulting in collagen production, a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles whilst also improving general redness, minor skin imperfections, minimizes pores and scars.

FAQs

What does the treatment involve?

Prior to the treatment being performed, a consultation with your practitioner will be required to determine your suitability for this treatment. Following the consent process, clinical imaging will take place and you will be prepared for treatment.

The total treatment time takes 90 minutes.

To begin the treatment, your eyes will be protected with safety goggles whereby the energy device is passed over the skin. This will feel like a warm snap of an elastic band on the skin as the light is absorbed by certain areas. This component is relatively gentle and low risk when performed by our highly trained practitioners. Here, your pigmentation, sun spots, freckles and redness will be targeted, leaving you with a bright, even complexion.

From here, a warm heated device is passed over the skin where no discomfort should be felt. As the heat is delivered to the skin, it begins to safely heat the deep tissues to begin collagen stimulation, further treating signs of aging, redness, sun damage and uneven skin tone.

With the heat beginning to build in the skin, your practitioner is then guided by advanced technology using an ablative laser to further target pigmentation, fine lines, redness, textural irregularities and pores through resurfacing. It will feel like a warm, prickling sensation whereby discomfort level may vary from person to person, however a cooling device provided by your practitioner will assist with comfort.

Occasionally you will be prescribed skin preparation products or a lightening cream for 2-4 weeks prior to the treatment to ensure your skin is in optimal condition. This is going to reduce the risk of adverse effects and ensure the best long term results. Fake tan, tanning and sun exposure is to also be avoided for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

How long do results last?

Depending on the condition of the skin prior to treatment, the results and longevity will vary. When used on relatively healthy skin with mild to moderate sun damage, the results will be evident after only one treatment.

In those with moderate to severe pigmentation or sun spots, lightning will occur after just one treatment but up to 3 treatments may be needed for stubborn pigmentation.

This 3D Skin Remodelling System will continue to stimulate collagen within the skin for up to 6 months following treatment, during this time the skin will continue to show improvements.

It is important to continue to look after the skin following this treatment to prevent further damage and prolong the results. This involves strict adherence to a skincare product regime recommended by your practitioner, sun protection and maintenance treatments with the other energy modalities such as ClearSilk, BBL Corrective, BBL Forever Young and Halo.

We recommended an initial course of 3 treatments every 4 to 6 weeks for optimal results.

What happens after my treatment?

Following the completion of this treatment, your practitioner will apply a cooling balm to the skin, followed by an anti-ageing ampoule, recovery cream and SPF. The skin will feel very warm and tight, and may appear red. Swelling may also occur in the following 1-2 days post treatment, which is normal although can be confronting.

It is recommended to maintain the moisture levels in the skin by drinking lots of water and frequent application of a recommended moisturiser from your practitioner. We also offer aftercare kits combining our recommended aftercare products.

The skin will feel very dry and tight, with a sandpaper feel for the next 2-3 days, whereby some peeling may occur. Micro-crusting of the skin may also occur in the areas where there was underlying pigmentation. This process can take up to 14 days however is easily covered with makeup.

It is important not to pick the skin during this time as it may lead to risks of scarring, abnormal pigmentation and infection.

It is imperative to avoid any sun exposure following this treatment and wear broad spectrum SPF daily. Avoiding makeup for the first 24 hours, and active cosmeceutical products such as vitamin A for the duration of the healing process or until advised by your practitioner.

What are the risks of treatment?

When performed by our very own experienced practitioners, the 3D Skin Remodelling System is very safe. The results speak for themselves, however, as with any medical-grade laser and energy treatment, there are associated risks. These include:

  • Perfuse redness which can persist for a few weeks post-treatment
  • Mild swelling which can occur for 3-5 days post-treatment
  • Cold Sore (HSV) outbreak in individuals who are susceptible. It is recommended these individuals take prophylactic antiviral medication from their local pharmacy prior to and post-treatment.
  • Mild purging of pimples and acne, due to this sebum being released from the deeper sebaceous glands and the use of oily aftercare creams.

Rarer, more serious side effects include:

  • Risk of post inflammatory hyper/hypopigmentation – this usually occurs in darker skin types where the skin has not been prepared appropriately prior to treatment. These changes in skin colour may last for several months and although distressing, it often can be treated.
  • Fungal or bacterial infections – easily treated with antibiotics and tend to only occur in very deep treatments.
  • Burns or scarring is extremely uncommon.

Attending a clinic where there is medical supervision from Doctors, ensures effective treatment of any adverse events and safety of your treatment.
