Hatox consultation
Hayfever is a seasonal allergy that usually causes symptoms such as itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, headaches and tiredness.

Many individuals treat hayfever with daily antihistamine tablets and nasal sprays. The condition is often chronic and can be distressing to many individuals.

The symptoms of hayfever occur due to inflammation of the nasal mucosa (lining of the nose) in response to certain allergens. Common triggers include dust mites, grasses, and pet dander.

Studies now suggest that the active ingredient in common anti-wrinkle injections can be used to effectively treat some of the symptoms of hay fever. The use of topically applied anti-wrinkle injections to the nasal passages works to block nerve endings in the nasal mucosa, leading to a reduction in inflammation of the tissues and therefore cause a reduction in severity and even the onset of symptoms.

Not all symptoms of hayfever respond to this treatment with clients primarily seeing a result in runny and congested noses.

FAQs

How do I prepare for the Haytox Treatment?

For optimal results, Youth Lab recommends performing a gentle strength FESS® nasal & sinus wash ONE hour prior to your appointment. FESS® nasal & sinus washes are available at most pharmacies. The  nasal rinse will allow the active ingredient to adhere with the nasal passage, in turn allowing increased absorption of the product to the nerves that trigger hay fever symptoms.

What does the treatment involve?

Youth Lab uses an advanced atomiser spray to evenly distribute the active ingredient into the nasal mucosa. The treatment is pain free, and does not require the use of needles.

How long do results last?

Results last approximately 6 months. Any individuals suffering with moderate to severe hay fever will require a second treatment after 4 weeks with the same initial dose. In severe cases doses may need to be increased at a higher cost but this will be determined by your treating practitioner.

Youth Lab recommends your first treatment at the commencement of allergy season or any time of year for those with chronic symptoms.

What happens after my treatment?

Aftercare for Haytox is fairly straightforward. Youth Lab advises no nose blowing or vigorous exercise for 4 hours post-treatment. It is also important not to use any allergy nasal sprays for 24 hours prior to your procedure. This includes saline and corticosteroid sprays.

Continued use of regular anti-allergy medications such as antihistamines may still be required as the treatment takes effect over 2 weeks. Cessation of medication can occur once symptoms improve.

What are the risks of treatment?

The risks of Haytox are minimal, with no side effects reported after treatment. The treatment has no downtime, and is neither uncomfortable or painful.

What are the costs?

Prices start at $330 per treatment.
