dermapen4 Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a cosmetic skin treatment technique that has evolved over time and is now widely used within the aesthetic industry to support the appearance and quality of the skin. Modern approaches focus on cosmetic skin revitalisation and are designed to complement contemporary skin treatment programs.

Today, mesotherapy techniques are commonly used to deliver cosmetic formulations to the skin using a variety of delivery methods, depending on the practitioner and device used. These techniques are intended to support the even application and absorption of active cosmetic ingredients, tailored to individual skin concerns.

Mesotherapy treatments may be customised to address a range of aesthetic goals, including improving the appearance of skin texture, tone and overall skin vitality. The focus of treatment is cosmetic enhancement rather than medical treatment.

At Youth Lab, our mesotherapy formulations are selected for their use in cosmetic skin treatments and are designed to support a range of aesthetic skin concerns. Treatments are tailored to individual needs following consultation and may assist in improving the overall appearance and quality of the skin, including concerns such as:

  • Skin dryness or dehydration

  • Uneven-looking skin texture

  • The appearance of pigmentation irregularities

  • Loss of skin firmness or elasticity

  • The appearance of scarring

  • Congested or blemish-prone skin

  • Skin affected by environmental exposure and ageing

We utilise techniques designed to minimise disruption to daily activities while allowing cosmetic solutions to be applied evenly to the skin. Many clients notice their skin appears refreshed following treatment, however individual responses and outcomes vary.

Our mesotherapy formulations are a curated range of cosmetic solutions containing selected active ingredients. These formulations are designed to be customised to individual skin concerns following consultation, with the aim of supporting the overall appearance and quality of the skin.

Each personalised formulation is selected to complement the skin and support a refreshed, balanced complexion. The formulations are designed with skin comfort in mind and are suitable for cosmetic application as advised by your Dermal Therapist.

Mesotherapy at Youth Lab may be incorporated into a broader, personalised cosmetic treatment plan. Where clinically appropriate and prescribed by a medical practitioner, mesotherapy may be performed alongside other cosmetic procedures. Your practitioner will discuss suitable treatment combinations during your consultation.

Treatment Expectations

Mesotherapy treatments are cosmetic procedures and results vary between individuals. Best outcomes are often achieved through a series of treatments as advised by your practitioner. These treatments are designed for those seeking to improve the appearance, texture and tone of their skin with minimal downtime.

What does the treatment involve?

Following a comprehensive consultation with one of our qualified Dermal Therapists, your skin concerns and treatment goals will be discussed and a personalised treatment plan established. Once confirmed, the treatment itself typically takes around 30 minutes.

Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed before you relax while your therapist performs your mesotherapy treatment.

Mesotherapy Delivery Methods

Mesotherapy is a cosmetic skin treatment that can be delivered using a variety of techniques, depending on the practitioner and device used. These may include microneedling, micro-infusion devices, sonophoresis or ultrasound-based technologies to assist with the topical delivery of active ingredients into the skin.

At Youth Lab, we use the AquaGold® Fine Touch device alongside microneedling technologies, including the MPen by Mesoestetic and Dermapen4, as our preferred mesotherapy delivery systems.

Our Approach

These specialised devices create micro-channels on the surface of the skin, allowing cosmetic mesotherapy solutions to be applied evenly and absorbed into the skin. Treatment solutions are customised according to individual skin concerns, with each formulation prepared specifically for each client and treatment session.

The focus of this treatment is the cosmetic infusion of active ingredients into the skin rather than intensive skin stimulation. Treatments are designed to be comfortable and are generally well tolerated.

Downtime & Sensation

Most clients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure, and downtime is typically minimal. Individual experiences may vary depending on skin sensitivity and the treatment performed. Your Dermal Therapist will provide tailored aftercare advice following your appointment.

How long do results last?

Mesotherapy is a cosmetic skin treatment designed to support skin vitality and improve the overall appearance of skin texture and tone. Treatments can be tailored to individual skin concerns, making mesotherapy a popular option for those seeking a refreshed and radiant-looking complexion. It is commonly chosen ahead of special events due to its minimal disruption to daily activities.

As with many cosmetic skin treatments, a course of sessions is often recommended to support optimal cosmetic outcomes. Treatment frequency and the number of sessions required will vary depending on individual skin concerns, skin condition and professional assessment by your Dermal Therapist.

Mesotherapy may also be incorporated into a broader cosmetic treatment plan. Where appropriate, it can be combined with other cosmetic procedures as advised by your practitioner to support overall skin appearance and maintenance.

What happens after my treatment?

Most clients are able to return to their usual daily activities following mesotherapy treatment. Some temporary skin responses, such as mild redness or sensitivity, may occur and typically settle within a short period of time. Individual responses vary.

We generally recommend avoiding makeup immediately following treatment to allow the skin to settle.

Personalised aftercare instructions will be provided by your Dermal Therapist at your appointment to support skin recovery and comfort.

Following an initial recovery period, your therapist may recommend an appropriate home care regimen incorporating active cosmeceutical products. This is intended to support ongoing skin maintenance and overall skin appearance between treatments, as advised.

What are the risks of treatment?

Risks & Considerations

Mesotherapy carries risks similar to other cosmetic skin needling or micro-infusion procedures. Common, temporary responses may include increased skin sensitivity, redness (similar to mild sunburn), dryness or light flaking in the days following treatment. Individual responses vary.

Less commonly, skin irritation such as superficial grazing, small pustules or infection may occur.

Changes in skin pigmentation, including hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, are uncommon but possible. Your Dermal Therapist will discuss this risk with you during your consultation and provide guidance on appropriate management should this occur, including referral for medical review where clinically indicated.

Suitability & Contraindications

  • Mesotherapy may not be suitable for individuals who:
  • Have recently used oral isotretinoin (Roaccutane)
  • Have active or inflammatory acne lesions
  • Have active skin infections, wounds or compromised skin integrity

Additional precautions may be required for individuals taking blood-thinning medications (including aspirin or ibuprofen) or for those who smoke.

Further contraindications, precautions and suitability considerations will be discussed in detail during your consultation to ensure safe and appropriate treatment planning.
