performing hydrafacial treatment at Youth Lab
The Hydrafacial is a one of its kind facial rejuvenation procedure with a multitude of benefits for the skin.

The Hydrafacial uses a new generation of technology, which virtually replaces older microdermabrasion methods which have traditionally been more abrasive on the skin.

The Hydrafacial provides cleaning, exfoliation, extraction and hydration within the one treatment including the Vortex-Fusion of antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid.

The end result is a facial that delivers in results, comfort and with minimal to no down time.

Previously, facials were kept in the realm of beauty salons but the Hydrafacial utilises advanced technology to penetrate and protect the skin resulting in long lasting effects with immediate results.

Clients find the Hydrafacial procedure comfortable and report an immediate improvement in skin tone and texture, a reduction in fine lines, an improvement in acne and congestion and a reduction in pigmentation. All without the down time and risks associated with other treatment modalities.

The treatment involves 4 stages. These stages work to exfoliate the dead skin cells, extract congestion and impurities, restore the hydration of the skin and infuse active cosmeceutical ingredients.

The benefits of the Hydrafacial include:

  • A reduction in congestion and removal of impurities
  • Improved skin texture and tone
  • A radiant and clear complexion with even colour
  • Hydration with more subtle, firm and plump skin
  • Reduction in the appearance of fine lines
  • Improved absorption of active antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid due to the exfoliation of the upper layers of the skin
  • A glowing complexion ready for a big event
before and after hydrafacial treatment

Each Hydrafacial treatment will follow a set protocol to ensure the serums are delivered in the correct volumes.

The Hydrafacial Protocol

  • Step One – Cleanse and exfoliate
  • Step Two – Light acid peel
  • Step Three – Extract and Hydrate
  • Step Four – Infuse and Protect

Add-ons

Healite II LED

The Healite II LED is the perfect add on treatment to the Hydrafacial. Not only does it add an extra element of relaxation (imagine a snooze under a warm light), but the advanced LED wavelengths can work to boost and enhance the results from the Hydrafacial treatment.

The Healite II LED is the most advanced LED system available and has been proven to increase collagen and elastin as well as aid in skin recovery and healing.

The result from the Healite II LED is smoother, healthier skin with improved tone and texture. For those who suffer from acne and congested skin the addition of the blue light (415nm) can work to fight the bacteria causing acne and further improve skin condition following the Hydrafacial.

Collagen Peptide Mask

The addition of firming and hydrating masks can work to enhance the results of the Hydrafacial as well as add that extra element of indulgence.

We have some exceptional masks available with our favourite being the Societe Rejuvenating Peptide mask. This mask has been developed for cosmetic medical use to calm and moisturise the skin after any type of procedure.

It contains powerful anti-ageing peptides and plant based stem cells which work to rejuvenative and relax the skin. It is no ordinary mask and the gel sheets use an innovative delivery system to ensure the ingredients are delivered optimally into the skin after treatment.

The result? Cooler, calmer and plumper skin which is even more radiant. Plus you can take the mask home for further use the night of your treatment.

Detoxifying Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is an essential part of the body’s immune system and detoxification process. The facial lymph nodes can become blocked and congested with age, stress, illness, lack of sleep and allergies.

Impaired lymphatic drainage can result in under eye swelling and puffiness, dull and lackluster skin, congestion and impaired immune response. At Youth Lab we perform the specialised Hydrafacial lymphatic drainage protocol using a gentle technique with specialised glass cups prior to performing the hydrafacial.

Not only does this treatment add-on feel comfortable, gently detoxifying lymphatic drainage can improve the functioning of the facial lymph nodes. In effect this aides in the detoxification of the skin, improving circulation and working to give clearer and healthier looking skin.

Adding detoxifying lymphatic drainage to your Hydrafacial is especially helpful for those who suffer from under eye puffiness, allergies, shift workers or those who have recently travelled.

Dermabuilder Peptide Infusion

The Hydrafacial Dermabuilder peptide complex is one of our most popular add-on treatments. The Dermabuilder is a serum which is incorporated into the Hydrafacial protocol and is specifically formulated to target fine lines, wrinkles and ageing skin.

Think of Dermabuilder as a skin strengthening, smoothing and softening powerhouse. The Dermabuilder can help to repair and strengthen collagen and elastin in the skin due to its complex of powerful peptides. This infusion is suitable for all skin types and all ages, not just those who are interested in anti-ageing treatments.

We love it for the fine skin around the eyes and mouth as well as anywhere expression wrinkles may be evident.

Regen GF Peptide Infusion

Restore youthful skin with regen GF This transformative peptide blend uses regenerative peptides to boost production of collagen and elastin, treat inflammation, accelerate skin repair and provide hydration.

Regen GF launched in Australia in 2020 and is an advanced skin-perfecting protein solution featuring M-007 technology. This unique booster’s regenerative peptides diminish the appearance of fine lines, boosts collagen production, enhances the delivery of key skin care ingredients and captures and removes toxins and irritants.

It is the perfect add-on infusion for sensitive or damaged skin, skin in need of repair or those focused on preventative ageing and maintenance.

NassifMD Hydraglucan Intense Hydration Booster

Delivered by Hydrafacial, powered by Nassif MD. NassifMD Hydraglucan Intense Hydration Booster is an infusion like no other and Hydrafacials latest partnership booster with famous facial surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif from the USA. Hydraglucan is designed to hydrate, repair, rejuvenate and protect the skin while restoring plumpness and radiance.

The booster delivers a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, glucan and betain to hydrate the skin along with natural humectants to increase and maintain hydration in the skin. This is the infusion for those wanting to address the signs of ageing and give the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Medical Strength Glysal Peel

We pride ourselves on tailoring our Hydrafacials for every skin type. One of the most important steps in the Hydrafacial is the utilisation of the GlySal peel which helps to break up congestion and dead skin cells.

For those who are regular Hydrafacial connoisseurs and want a more intense treatment, or for those who have acne, deep congestion or thickened/oily skin then adding a medical strength GlySal peel is a fantastic way to intensify and strengthen the overall treatment. This peel does not increase any discomfort nor affect the other aspects of the Hydrafacial, but it may result in a little bit more down time such as peeling (for a day or two).

Aside from a little tingle, it is a fantastic option for those who are after serious results.

FAQs

What does the treatment involve?

Following a full consultation with our dermal therapists and once your treatment regime and concerns have been established the treatment takes only 20 to 30 minutes.

You will have your face cleansed and then you relax while your therapist performs your Hydrafacial. The treatment uses light suction and you will not feel any abrasiveness like with a traditional microdermabrasion treatment.

Your therapists will perform the 4 step treatment and explain the benefits of each step. There is no discomfort or irritation and your skin will glow and feel tight immediately afterwards. Occasionally there may be a slight stinging sensation. There is minimal associated down time and many find they can resume their normal activities afterwards.

The add on of LED light therapy using the Heallite II LED is an excellent option to enhance the body’s natural recovery and further enhance the skin rejuvenation effects of the Hydrafacial. Moreover, it helps with acne, congestion, fine lines and more. Other treatment add-ons will also work to enhance the results of the Hydrafacial treatment.

How long do results last?

Results are evident after just one treatment of the Hydrafacial however the best results are seen with regular sessions to ensure healthy cell turnover and the removal of damaged cells and impurities.

At Youth Lab we recommend 3 initial treatments at 2 to 4 weekly intervals for optimal results to refine, refresh and hydrate the skin. For those with more serious skin concerns such as acne and sun damage a course of 6 monthly treatments is recommended. Following the initial treatment course a Hydrafacial should be performed every 1 to 3 months or before any special event.

We also recommend other treatment modalities to enhance the results of the Hydrafacial including medical grade skin peels, BBL, Healite II LED and skin needling.

A comprehensive treatment course can be discussed at your consultation with our dermal therapists.

What happens after my treatment?

There is minimal down time after the Hydrafacial treatment and many clients can go back to work and go about their normal day.

There may be some mild redness for 12 to 24 hours and some may have some mild flaking for a few days after the treatment. Those with acne prone skin can often experience a purging response and breakout after their first treatment, this is normally self limiting.

We recommend not wearing makeup afterwards so you can enjoy your clean and glowing skin.

For the 3-5 days following treatment we advise the following;

  • Do not pick at any flaking skin and do not exfoliate or use any abrasive products on the skin.
  • Do not use any of your active skin care products including vitamin A, AHAs. Only use products recommended by your Dermal Therapist.
  • Ensure your skin remains moisturized and apply moisturiser regularly.
  • Strict sun avoidance and daily SPF 50+.
  • Avoid heat inducing activities such as vigorous exercise, hot showers, steam rooms for 48 hours after the treatment.

We also recommend continuing with a home care regime of active cosmeceutical ingredients to ensure the longevity of the results and to continue to improve your skin health between treatments.

Full aftercare instructions will be provided following the treatment.

What are the risks of treatment?

Although the treatment is very safe and effective the treatment cannot be performed in a handful of circumstances.

These include:

  • those who are using doctor prescribed acne medication (or have used it in the last 6 months)
  • have allergies to Salicylates or shellfish
  • have had facial surgery in the last 12 months
  • have active facial infections/eczema/rosacea/dermatitis
  • have herpes simplex infection (cold sores)
  • have new sunburn in the treatment area
  • those who are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

Medical clearance may be needed for certain conditions.

We also advise to space the Hydrafacial treatment to 2 weeks before or after any other dermal treatment such as BBL/Laser/skin needling or 2 weeks after any cosmetic injectables such as dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle injections.

Our dermal therapists and doctors will advise you during your consultation if the treatment is safe for you and all after care instructions will be provided on the day of your treatment.
